When we are out and about networking, one of the questions we get asked the most is “Where are you based?”, and our answer always leaves them befuddled.
“Stranraer? Where’s that?”
You see, the thing is that when you have a network that covers the whole of the UK, people kind of expect you to be based in one of the big cities, but it is completely possible to run a childrens party company that covers everywhere from Orkney (Hello Lisa 😉 to Jersey (Hiya Roshin 🙂 ) from a small rural town located at the end of a long wiggly road. We have all mod cons like Broadband, and we have several thousand lorries trucking through the area daily on their trip over to Northern Ireland, so although we may be remote, we’re definitely not cut off.
And we were delighted this week to hear of our nomination in the Scottish Rural Awards. All we hope is that it might just inspire a budding business owner, and encourage them to to keep their business local, where it can make a really big difference, rather than pick it up and relocate to the big smoke. After all, who needs starbucks 😉
